About Old Vines

Old Vines Wine Bar and Restaurant is located in the lower village of Kennebunk, walking distance from Dock Square in historic Kennebunkport. Old Vines is the perfect place to have a great glass of wine, specialty beer on tap or a delicious cocktail to go along with wonderful tapas style food. The renovated barn that houses Old Vines has been designed to impart a hint of sophistication in harmony with that rustic, down home friendliness associated with the Maine coast. Our menu is carefully designed to emphasize flavor, authenticity and seasonality. Our wine and drink menu is given the same careful attention. A great many of our wines are from small family-run vineyards that produce high-quality wines at a really great value. Our draft beers are always unique and our cocktail menu is made with the freshest juices, house-made sodas and premium spirits.

We believe a great dining experience consists of three things: a comforting atmosphere, wonderful service and great food. Our goal is to give you all three on a consistent basis. The staff at Old Vines works very hard to make your experience not only unique, but a lasting one as well.

About Mike Farrell, Owner

Mike has many years’ experience in the hospitality industry. He received a culinary degree from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, and went on to hone his skills in some of New York’s top kitchens, including the Four Seasons Restaurant, Eleven Madison Park and Marc Meyer’s Five Points Restaurant. He learned the finer points of upscale creative cuisine as a sous chef in the Merck senior management dining and conference center. It was also there that he began his interest in wine. As his passion for quality wine and great dining experiences grew, Mike and his wife Jodie decided to re-locate to Maine to chase their dream: Old Vines Wine Bar, which opened in the spring of 2009. They have two little boys, Wyatt is four and Bradley is one.
